Ambulatory Healthcare Services Announces Ramadan Working Hours and Second Season of ‘Salem ’ TV Program

Abu Dhabi-UAE: 07 July, 2013 – Ambulatory Healthcare Services (AHS), a part of the Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA), today announced the revised working hours of its healthcare centers located in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain and the launch of the second season of ‘Salem’ on Abu Dhabi Al Oula and Abu Dhabi Al Emarat TV channels during the Holy Month of Ramadan.
 
The revised operating hours and extended night shifts during the Holy Month of Ramadan will meet the needs of patients round the clock and contribute to raising customer satisfaction levels for AHS’s world-class services.
 
Abu Dhabi and Al Ain-based Al Zafaranah, Al Rowda, Al Mushref, Al Bateen, Al Khaleej, Al Manhal, Khalifa A, Al Shahama, Al Samha, Al Maqta’a, Madinat Mohammed Bin Zayed, Mafraq Dental Center, Baniyas, Al Nahda, Al Khazna, Al Hili, Al Muwaiji, Zakher, Al Niyadat, Al Maqam, Mezyad and Al Yahar Healthcare Centers will operate in two shifts - 9:00am - 3:00pm and 8:30pm - 12:30am on their usual working days.
 
In Abu Dhabi Island Region, Abu Dhabi Dental Center and Al Dhafra Dental Center will also operate in two shifts, with the first from 8:00am - 2:00pm and the second from 8:30pm - 12:30am on their usual working days. Meanwhile, the Airport Clinic, Al Khatem, Remah, Sweihan, Al Hayer and Al Qua’a Healthcare Centers will remain open 24 hours.
 
In Al Ain Eastern Region, Al Shwaib and Al Faqaa will operate in a single shift from 6:00pm - 12:00am on their usual working days.
 
AHS Disease Prevention and Screening Centers will operate Sunday through Thursday from 8:00am - 2:00pm and remain closed on Saturdays. The Abu Dhabi Center will also remain open Sunday through Thursday from 8:00am - 5:00pm, and on Saturdays from 10:00am - 4:00pm.
 
The 15-episode series of Salem, the AHS mascot that seeks to educate children and parents on health, will be aired on Abu Dhabi Al Oula and Abu Dhabi Al Emarat. The series will tackle issues on dangers of energy drinks, how to maintain healthy weight, as well as problems related to asthma, diabetes, chickenpox and lice in children. The episodes will also promote empathy towards children with special needs and raise awareness on ways to cultivate respect among classmates, gain a positive attitude, handle peer pressure and emotional abuse and learn to say no to wrong actions.
 
The episodes will additionally highlight the importance of balanced meals with anti-oxidants, self-confidence, effective means of communication, regular vaccinations, wearing appropriate attire while playing sports to avoid injuries, and ensuring a safe environment in the kitchen.
 
Over the past few months, more than 60,000 copies of the comic books featuring stories, activities and puzzles on dental hygiene and sports have been distributed to school children across 112 public schools during AHS community events and at AHS centers and SEHA facilities in Abu Dhabi.
 
AHS is a unique outpatient care concept from SEHA that aims to offer easy access to primary and specialist patient care, including comprehensive laboratory and modern diagnostic facilities.
AHS is responsible for operating school health services, disease prevention and screening centers, mobile clinic solutions and ambulatory care centers across the emirate of Abu Dhabi.
